Sadly our wonderful and much loved BARBARA Simm - our deputy chairwoman passed away in the early hours of the 19th June 2014. We were so proud of her. She was voted Volunteer Community Champion to recognise all her hardwork and dedication and was a Governor on the York and Leeds NHS Trust.
She believed that the format of personal care in the home should be improved and carers needed more formalised training.
Barbara organised a big band event in Selby, organising musician and singers from all over the uk to get together to raise money for the church army and sang solo herself. She was a dedicated church army member and music was the love of her life.
All at Selby District Disability Forum and all her friends and family will miss her so much. You have left a big place in our hearts.
